Pips are two types of resources required to enter Arena and Champions Arena battles, as opposed to Energy. While similar, the two forms also have some differences.

Arena[]

They are visible as 5 cyan bars at the bottom of your heroes' portraits in the Arena battle.

Unlike Energy, Pips is tied to each hero separately instead of being shared, and fully refreshes once every 24 hours (noon GMT time) instead of regenerating gradually. Each hero has a maximum of 5 Pips, and 1 is consumed from every hero on your team when you enter an Arena battle. Each hero's Pips can be refilled for 20 Power Gems.

If you find opponents and then reach the refresh time, even if the heroes still display their old pips count, when you enter a match, the new set of pips will be consumed instead. Pips are, strictly speaking, consumed when a battle starts after finishing loading, not when you tap "Fight". Therefore, if the battle starts before the reset, you can finish that battle without consuming the new set of Pips.

Champions Arena[]

They are visible as a single orange bar at the bottom of your heroes' portraits in the game mode.

Pips is tied to each hero separately instead of being shared, and fully refreshes once every 12 hours instead of regenerating gradually. Each hero has a maximum of 1 Pip, and 1 is consumed from every hero on your team when you enter an Arena battle. Each hero's Pip can be refilled with Energy Tanks.

Trivia[]

  • Arena pips are previously refreshed every 12 hours (noon and midnight GMT time) but has since been changed to the current system.
  • The 3 daily attempts in Raids is also sometimes called pips, as Energy is not required to enter those battles.
  • In the first game, Online Battle (equivalent of Arena) consumes Energy just like other game modes.
